Build Versions for SQL Server 2014, 2012, 2008 R2, 2008, 2005, 2000, 7 & 6.5
I couldn't find a simple SQL Server build table on the web that had densely packed all the information I needed...so I designed this table...that contains some unique column and rows not matched by any other table out there. Please note that I update this table around once a month...so please allow a latency of 4 weeks.
Every time I connect to a SQL server, be it a production, dev, stage, client's, colleague's, or any other, I take a quick peek at their SQL server's build number, located conveniently directly on SSMS's Object Explorer alongside the server name, to see what level of service pack that server has received, to know exactly what I am dealing with.
DBAs or network admins who access a big number of SQL servers should either print this useful build reference table and hang or stick it somewhere around their desk or monitors for quick look up; or alternatively make it a desktop background on some workstation or server so that you see it all the time (this is what I have done).
